Student Shadowing The Royal Veterinary
College
The Royal Veterinary Colleges Widening Participation
Team offers pupils the opportunity to come into the
College for one day during the academic year to shadow
a current undergraduate. Pupils attend the students
classes and lectures, observe their practical work
and get the opportunity to ask them questions about
their course and university experiences. Shadowing
can last for either a half or full day, on any weekday
other than Wednesday. Current undergraduates undertaking
the shadowing are all student ambassadors trained in
working with young people.
Experiments Road Shows St George's Hospital
Medical School
The Experiments Roadshow is a unique and innovative
approach to linking the science taught in secondary
school with the science used in Healthcare practice.
Delivered to school pupils from year 7 to year 11,
they are flexible and mobile enough to be effective
in a range of settings, including school visits, summer
school sessions, health fairs etc. Current roadshows
exist in Physiotherapy (What happened to Beckham's
foot?), Prosthetics (Your flexible friend?) and Radiography
(The Human Jigsaw).
